Venice, Italy (day two)

We stayed at the Hotel Ca Favretto San Cassiano, once a home to a Venetian noble family. Our second-story room had a charming little alcove overlooking the Grand Canal.

After breakfast we explored the Rialto markets and made our way to The Piazza.

We toured St. Mark's Basilica, the Doges Palace, and the prison.

This bridge was crossed by all the prisoners, whether on their way to prison, release, or execution. It is called the Bridge of Sighs and I find it terribly tragic.

Oh, bella Venezia! Take me back!!

I just finished Dan Brown's most recent novel which takes place in Venice. Nice to see a few things he talked about! Now I need to GO THERE. - Sierra
